Timmy is currently a post-doctoral researcher at UCSF. His primary research focus is in developing optimization algorithms to plan the treatment of cancer with radiation. In particular, he develops fundamental models to represent treatment goals, understand their mathematical structure, create algorithms that exploit this structure, and bring these planning algorithms into practical use. Timmy is also interested in 3D printing to prototype devices that control and/or improve the distribution of radiation inside the patient. Timmy also hopes to spend his nights and weekends in the Invention Lab.
