The CITRIS Invention Lab has selected nine students and teams to receive summer fellowships.
The Fellows represent a diverse cross-section of Berkeley students engaged in design and invention. The fellows are: Victoria Hu (Pol Econ), Gabriel Kahn (Math/Env Econ), Christopher Van Redman (Art Practice & Architecture), Abu Sikder, Amy Lyden (BioE), Jay Reddy, Quinn Shen (EECS), Maxwell Rutman (L&S Computer Science) and Margaret Rhee (Ethnic Studies and New Media Studies).
Fellows had to apply with a concrete project they will work on in the lab this semester. Projects include a method for crop moisture measurement, new haptic interfaces, a T-cell counter, a robotic beverage dispenser, and an interactive poetry machine.
Fellows receive free lab access for the semester. The winners will document their work at the end of the semester on the Invention Lab web site.
